At GAGAGO, your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have—across our website, events, registration forms, and gamer profile features (the “Services”).

1) Information We Collect

Account & Registration

  • Name, email, gamertag, age or date of birth (if applicable), city, optional bio/avatar.

  • Parent/guardian name & email when registering minors.

Gameplay & Community

  • Match/event stats (e.g., Wins, Knockouts, Catches, Self-Eliminations, Games Played), rank/score, badges/achievements, team affiliation, season history.

  • Photos/videos captured at events; highlight links you submit.

Event & Operations

  • Attendance, event type/venue/date, tournament outcomes, waiver status.

Commerce (if you shop with us)

  • Shipping/contact details and limited payment metadata handled by our payment processors (we don’t store full card numbers).

Technical

  • Device/browser info, IP address, cookie IDs, pages viewed, referral URLs, approximate location, and similar analytics.

User Submissions

  • Forms, surveys, contest entries, feedback, messages.

2) How We Use Information

  • Player Profiles & Leaderboards: Create/maintain player records; calculate ranks/scores; display public leaderboards and player pages.

  • Events & Safety: Manage check-ins, waivers, brackets, awards, and rule enforcement.

  • Highlights & Media: Curate/post event photos/videos and player-submitted highlights (subject to your preferences).

  • Badges & Notifications: Award achievements; send updates about rank changes, events, and features (opt-out anytime).

  • Product & Site Improvement: Debugging, analytics, testing, and service enhancement.

  • Legal/Compliance: Honor opt-outs, fulfill requests, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

3) Public Display (Profiles, Stats & Media)

  • Public by design: By registering as a player, you consent to public display of your gamertag, rank/score, and game stats on our site and channels.

  • What’s not public by default: Real name, email, phone, and other direct identifiers.

  • Media & likeness: We capture photos/videos at events to showcase the sport. You can request we remove specific images/videos where you are clearly identifiable (subject to practical limits if already widely shared by third parties).

  • Minors: Extra protections apply (see §7). We will not knowingly post media of a known minor against a parent/guardian request.

Your controls: Email privacy@gagago.co to (a) make your profile private, (b) use an alias gamertag, (c) hide specific media, or (d) request takedown of your profile.

4) Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR, where applicable)

We process personal data based on: contract (running events/profiles you sign up for), legitimate interests (community features, safety, analytics), consent (marketing, media preferences where required), and legal obligations (records/waivers).

5) Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar tech to keep the site secure, remember preferences, and measure performance. Categories may include:

  • Essential: security, load balancing, basic functionality.

  • Analytics: traffic and engagement (e.g., Google Analytics).

  • Media/Embeds: YouTube/Vimeo and social embeds set their own cookies.

You can control cookies via your browser; blocking some may impact functionality. We currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

6) Sharing & Service Providers

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share limited data with trusted vendors who help us operate the Services, under contracts that require confidentiality and appropriate safeguards. Typical recipients:

  • Google (Forms, Sheets/Drive, Workspace), Shopify (site/e-commerce), payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments/Stripe), automation tools (e.g., Make/Zapier), cloud storage, video platforms (YouTube/Vimeo), email providers, analytics/security tools, and event photography vendors.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights/safety, or in a business transfer (merger, acquisition).

7) Children’s Privacy & Age Requirements

  • Our Services are intended for community sport and may include minors. Under 13 (or under your local age of consent): parental/guardian consent is required for registration and participation.

  • For minors, we minimize public identifiers and honor parent media preferences. Parents may review, correct, or delete their child’s data by contacting privacy@gagago.co.

8) Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described or as required by law.

  • Profiles & stats: kept while your account/profile is active or until you request deletion.

  • Event/waiver records: retained for a reasonable period for safety/compliance.

  • Analytics logs: typically 13–26 months (provider defaults).
    When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify data.

9) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and vendor due diligence. No method is 100% secure; please report any concerns to security@gagago.co or privacy@gagago.co.

10) Your Choices & Rights

You can:

  • Access, correct, or update your information.

  • Request deletion of your player profile and/or removal from public leaderboards.

  • Opt out of marketing emails.

  • Set media preferences (hide specific images/videos, profile privacy).

How: Email privacy@gagago.co. We’ll verify your request and respond per applicable laws. If you are in the EEA/UK/California, you may have additional rights (e.g., portability, restriction, objection, non-discrimination). California residents can request categories/specific pieces of information collected and deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

11) Automated Rankings & Scoring

Leaderboards and badges use rule-based calculations from in-game stats (e.g., Wins, KOs, etc.). This does not produce legal or similarly significant effects; you can always request a review or correction if you believe stats are inaccurate.

12) International Transfers

We may process/store data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

13) Third-Party Links & Embeds

Our site may link to or embed third-party services (e.g., social platforms, video hosts). Their privacy practices govern your use of those services.

14) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our Services or laws. We’ll post updates with a new “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we’ll provide additional notice where required.
